On March 14, 2024, more than 170 individuals from the Swiss healthcare sector and from politics, business, and society gathered in Bern in the festive setting of the Viktor Award 2023 to celebrate diversity and innovation within the Swiss healthcare industry. This unique event especially celebrates those who often perform their extraordinary achievements behind the scenes and are committed to patient welfare.
Max Pahlow, Managing Director of Janssen Switzerland, delivered the laudatory speech for Chantal Britt, the winner in the category "Most Outstanding Personality." With remarkable perseverance and endurance, the President of Long Covid Switzerland has been raising awareness about Long Covid following her own Covid-19 illness and advocates for those affected by Long Covid to have a voice in Swiss society, politics, the medical profession, and the research community.
The award for "Medical Masterpiece" went to Prof. Sophie Marie Pautex, Head of Palliative Medicine at Bellerive Hospital. Named Newcomer of the Year was Viva – Réseau de l’Arc, the startup that is the first fully integrated health organization consisting of the canton, service providers, and insurers in the Jura arc. The prize for the most innovative cooperation was awarded to CSEB, a foundation from the Lower Engadine, which includes an acute hospital, rescue services, a rehabilitation clinic, nursing homes, care groups, and home care services, thereby committing to comprehensive healthcare provision. Patrick Hässig, National Councillor GLP Zurich and qualified nursing specialist HF, was named the most popular health politician.
