Many people have not been diagnosed, and therefore don’t understand what causes their stressful situations and don’t get the support they need. Autism is a lifelong condition that affects people from all backgrounds. Stress is often caused by sensory issues (for example sounds, sights, smells, textures).
Autism describes a different way of thinking, feeling and perceiving than most people do. Each person is different and has varying support needs. People with autism face many challenges, but they also have unique strengths and abilities.
